After being closed for a few years for refurbishment, the Donald M. Kendall Sculpture Gardens at PepsiCo are now open! Entry to the park is free of charge, the park is open to the public on weekends. There are some picnic tables where we can have a picnic lunch.
From the website: pepsico.com
Donald M. Kendall, former chairman of the board and CEO, conceived the gardens which bear his name. He imagined an atmosphere of stability and creativity. The sculpture collection was started in 1965 and consists of works by major twentieth century artists. Russell Page, the internationally famous garden designer, cultivated the corporate grounds into an arboretum transforming the gardens into a work of art. The sculptures and gardens exist in harmony on a carefully maintained landscape.
Works include those by Alexander Calder, Pablo Picasso, George Dubuffet, Auguste Rodin, George Segal, Claes Oldenburg, Henry Moore, and much more!
Let’s arrive at noon so we can secure a picnic table, then we can explore the grounds and enjoy the afternoon. This event is weather permitting, I’ll send more details to attending members closer to the event.
Raindate is the next day, Sunday, September 17, same time.
Interested members can RSVP to Laura. Please respond by Friday 9/15 at 6pm. Hope to see you there!
