Laura Schroeder
Having lived in the Westchester/Fairfield area for over 25 years with administrative and board positions in museums and arts organizations in New York and Connecticut, Laura Schroeder has learned much about what the area has to offer for arts and culture lovers.
It all started with her creation of the Westchester-Fairfield Arts Group in 2011, and after developing and organizing over 130 group outings over four years, she was fortunate to have the opportunity to connect with many fellow arts enthusiasts. She continues to strive to explore new cultural organizations and venues and their exhibitions, performances and programs.
Area newcomers, people who would like to explore the region, and those simply looking for something interesting to do on evenings and weekends have joined Laura in discovering and experiencing a variety of activities and events, from museum group tours to enjoying outdoor concerts, gallery openings, theatre performances, film festivals and more. Of particular significance is the added enrichment that comes from experiencing these events surrounded by others who share the same interests.
If you’d like to learn more, please subscribe to our free, weekly Area Events newsletter or email Laura directly, and she’ll be thrilled to answer any questions about membership or help you find out more about the arts in Westchester and Fairfield Counties.
Cultural Pursuit
Cultural Pursuit is a member-supported community of arts lovers who have a genuine appreciation for art and culture, including visual arts, music, film, and the performing arts. We share a desire to learn and discover more about art, artists and the creative process, and understand the benefits and positive effects of the arts on our lives.
We have regular outings that members are invited to attend, in Fairfield, Westchester, New York City or surrounding counties. These include museum exhibitions, gallery openings, film festivals, musical and theatre performances and related programs. Through these group outings, we enjoy events together that are educational, entertaining, engaging, inspiring and memorable. The artists, performers, filmmakers and art educators we meet and hear from enhance our awareness and broaden our knowledge, while we enjoy the company of others who share our interest in the arts and the creative process. With so much to choose from, we enjoy this journey of discovery and enrichment in our ever-changing cultural environment.
