About Laura Schroeder
Having lived in the Westchester/Fairfield area for over 25 years with administrative and board positions in museums and arts organizations throughout the New York area, Laura Schroeder has learned much about what the area has to offer for arts and culture lovers.
It all started with her creation of the Westchester-Fairfield Arts Group in 2011, and after developing and organizing over 130 group outings over four years, she was fortunate to be able to connect with fellow arts enthusiasts in the area and she continues to strive to explore new arts organizations and venues and their exhibitions, performances and programs.
Area newcomers, people who would like to explore the area, and those simply looking for something interesting to do on evenings and weekends have joined Laura in discovering and experiencing a variety of activities and events, from museum group tours to enjoying outdoor concerts, gallery openings, theatre performances and more. Of particular significance is the ability to experience these exhibitions and performances surrounded by others who share the same interests.
If you’d like to learn more, please subscribe to our free, weekly Area Events newsletter or email Laura directly, and she’ll be thrilled to answer any questions about membership or help you find out more about the arts in Westchester and Fairfield Counties.
About Cultural Pursuit LLC
Cultural Pursuit is a member-supported community of arts lovers who have a genuine appreciation for art and culture, including visual arts, music, film, and the performing arts. We share a desire to learn and discover more about art, artists and the creative process, and understand the benefits and positive effects of the arts on our lives.
We have a few scheduled events each month to choose from: usually one local museum tour or visit (Fairfield or Westchester County), one New York City museum tour or visit, a film screening, and sometimes a musical performance or museum program as well, typically in groups of 4-10 people. Members are invited to dine together at a restaurant nearby before most events, which is a welcome opportunity to get to know other group members and catch up with old friends.
Through these group outings, we enjoy events together that are educational, entertaining, engaging, inspiring and memorable. With the many artists, art historians and guides we meet, we often marvel at fascinating and provocative works that enhance our awareness and broaden our minds, while enjoying the company of others who share our interest in the arts and the creative process.
With so much to choose from, we look forward to our journey of discovery and enrichment in an ever-changing cultural environment.

For more than 50 years, ArtsWestchester has been the community’s connection to the arts. An organization that began in 1965 as a conversation among arts advocates and volunteers in a living room, has grown into a nationally recognized private arts council, the largest of its kind in New York State.
ArtsWestchester’s mission is to provide leadership, vision, and support to ensure the availability, accessibility, and diversity of the arts. ArtsWestchester provides programs and services that enrich the lives of everyone in Westchester County. It helps fund concerts, exhibitions and plays through grants; brings artists into schools and community centers; advocates for the arts; and builds audiences through diverse marketing initiatives.
