This is a very special area – I’ve lived in both Westchester and Fairfield Counties, and with the myriad of cultural offerings, it’s a region that has a tremendous variety of unique destinations to enjoy visual art, music, film, theatre and dance performances.
We have been visiting most of these locations since 2011, so we recently launched a new page to share with our members and the community: Cultural Pursuit Destinations. You’ll find a list of cultural destinations in both counties, including a few just north or east, within about an hour radius. We’ve traveled as far north as Storm King, south to the museums and galleries of Manhattan, and east to New Haven, northeast to New Britain and Hartford, and as far west as Tarrytown, Yonkers and Nyack. We’ve been to practically all of these over the years, and look forward to discovering even more this year!
Click on any point on the map to see more information about the location, or click the link of the names on our list to be taken to the website to explore their exhibitions, programs, performances, screenings and special events. If it’s a location for a general visit, make sure to check the hours that they’re open to the public, as they vary, and some are only open in certain seasons.
Enjoy your cultural explorations with the warmer weather in the months ahead – we hope you find our map useful! If you have any questions, contact me at Laura@culturalpursuit.com.
