LOVE, LINDA: THE LIFE OF MRS. COLE PORTER
October 5 – 14, 2018
Loved by many, The Schoolhouse Theater located in the charming hamlet of Croton Falls in Northern Westchester County has opened its 2018-19 season with LOVE, LINDA, a musical production about Linda Porter, the wife of Cole Porter. Through words and song, jazz vocalist Stevie Holland tells the story of Linda Lee Thomas, the Southern beauty who was the driving force behind legendary songwriter Cole Porter at the dawn of the roaring twenties. The score for LOVE, LINDA includes such beloved Porter songs as “Night and Day”, “I Love Paris”,”Let’s Do It”, “Love for Sale” and “In The Still Of The Night.”
This weekend’s note from Bram Lewis, Artistic Director: “Last night we opened to a near capacity house. .We believe we will have sold out shows for this wonderful, rousing show. There are only 5 performances left in our jewel-box Theater (10/6-1014), before we move to Off-Broadway at The Triad”.
He gives us a preview for what’s scheduled at The Schoolhouse Theater this season:
DIVERSIONS AND DELIGHTS, A CROTON FALLS CHRISTMAS
THE COLOR OF LIGHT by Jesse Kornbluth
This is the premiere of an incredible story. Its about Henri Matisse, and a young woman named Monique Bourgeois…’Night nurse needed, should be young and pretty’ was all Matisse wrote on the ad… Austin Pendleton is slated to play the lead… It’s a brilliant new play from the pen of Jesse Kornbluth.
June 13th-30th: To be announced
